Teaching Chain of Command

Over the past few weeks of floods and colds we did manage to get in two games of Chain of Command. Each was a chance to teach the game to two interested people. I think we’ve got some converts, which is great. I’ve only got pictures from the first game but they’re pretty nice so I’ll upload them below. We played on a teddy bear mat I had commissioned years ago. It’s been folded up for 18 months but held up extremely well. Pictures are clickable.

The scenario was that British Paras had to take the farmhouse on the bottom left of the picture above. A platoon of German Grenadiers were holding it. Lucius played the OPFOR as I coached the new players and we ended up with one win and one loss. We also got some armoured action in the first game where an L70 appeared and, after several shots, was finally dispatched by a Sherman Firefly. There was a counter attack on the Allied left, but a strong thrust on the right and the covering fire from the Firefly won the first game. The second game was similar, but the German counter attack succeeded.

Overall, some really good games and great fun was had. More to come!
