The One Ring 2e – In Practice

A few of us managed to escape for a guys weekend on Hornby Island. Too much good food (thanks Tim) and lots of rainy walks but we also got to play The One Ring 2e (TOR 2e).

Good News from (slightly farther) East!

Well, after the bad news I mentioned here, finally some good news for roleplaying in Middle Earth. A few months ago I backed the second edition of “The One Ring RPG” that is now going to be published by Free League Publishing. The rewards are actually starting to flow. The Alpha PDF of the core rules has just been released to backers, which means this Kickstarter is on track, which is really exciting.

Thus far the rules look more streamlined, the layout is much improved and the cultures seem more balanced. For those interested in Adventures in Middle Earth, the Kickstarter mentions that Free League is working on a new version and more information will follow – so as the new version of TOR approaches fulfillment, we’ll likely see more action on that front.

I’m quite excited by these rules and I am hoping to play or run a campaign using TOR later in the fall once the physical rewards arrive.

All in all, good news!
