This weekend I received my M5A1 Stuart / M5A1 Recce, along with some other goodies, from Rubicon Models and quickly set about building it. Let me tell you, I will definitely be ordering from them again!

Review of EXIT: The Game

Several of the gaming group are moving houses and I have just gotten the dressings off after surgery so this month has been light on the gaming (and posting). Despite that we managed to get some people and play EXIT: The escape room boardgame. This the third EXIT game I’ve played, and the second that one of the players had seen. Despite that relative inexperience, everyone really enjoyed themselves. I’m sharing a quick review here on the blog so that my gentle readers can get a sense of a game that I really enjoy and that I was unaware of until recently.

This will be a quicklook at Dark Alliance’s 1/72 Trolls that I just purchased off of eBay. These are soft plastic sets that come in different varieties. This one is “Set 1” – other sets have different weapons and poses (some with drums, some with catapults).

Earlier I had mentioned that I was going to rant about Cruel Seas. Not that it is bad ruleset, it’s not. I think that the game is quick to learn and fun to play. I do think that it was rushed into production to meet a Christmas deadline leaving a multitude of small errors, and I also think that some of the rules don’t reflect what it is like at sea. Be warned: Naval Officers love to rant, but I will endeavour to keep this as short as I can. I will go through what I see are issues, give my perspective, and then suggestions on how I would change the rules.
